Abhorsen Trilogy #3 Abhorsen

The Abhorsen Trilogy #3 : The Abhorsen by Garth Nix
Unabridged Audiobook 7 Cassettes

Wonderful end to a wonderful trilogy. This story caught me at the beginning and held my attention the whole way through. My only real complaint was occassionally Tim Curry forgot to change voices for Lirael and she came off a bit gruff sometimes, but overall, very well done.

The Abhorsen #2 Lirael

The Abhorsen #2 : Lirael by Garth Nix

In book #1 we were introduced to Sabriel, the Abhorsen's daughter who has to take over when her father cannot. Lirael is a daughter of the Clayr. The Clayr are an ancient race in whom almost all the daughters have the gift of sight (seeing the future), usually before the age of 14. Poor Lirael awakes on her 14th birthday to find she still does not have the sight. Fate has bigger things planned for Lirael. Another excellent book. This one did leave you hanging. I'm glad I have the third and last book ready to pop into the cassette player this morning to listen to on the way to work!

The Abhorsen #1: Sabriel

The Abhorsen #1: Sabriel by Garth Nix
Unabridged Audio 7 Cassettes

I requested this book and the second in the series from PaperbackSwap. Bless the owner, she also had the last book in the series and she sent it along with the other two. This first book was AWESOME! The story immediately caught my attention and held it all the way through the book. There were surprises along the way and a few "yep, I knew that was going to happen," but the story was exceptional, the reader was great (Tim Curry, love that British accent!) and I have already started book 2.
