Frey was the son of Njord and the brother of Freya. When he was a child, he and his sister lived with Njord in Asgard. When he cut his first tooth, he was given the realm of Alfheim where he ruled over the fairies and elves. He is attributed with bringing light forth from darkness. He is the god of fertility, sunlight, peace and prosperity.
